Vyshneve has seen the most extensive damage to residential areas since the war began

As a result of the Russian attack and the subsequent secondary explosion on the night of July 6, unprecedented destruction of residential areas was recorded in the town of Vyshneve, Kyiv Oblast. According to First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko, the scale of the damage is the greatest to civilian buildings since the start of the full-scale invasion, as the affected area covered 13 hectares of residential neighborhoods.

Due to the catastrophic consequences of the shelling, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to allocate financial assistance from the state budget’s reserve fund to support the local community and repair the damage. The funds received will be directed directly toward rebuilding the damaged homes of the city’s residents.

Special coordination centers were quickly set up in Vyshneve overnight. There, affected citizens can receive immediate emergency assistance, as well as expert advice on how to apply for state compensation for destroyed or damaged property. To address the consequences of the emergency, massive numbers of law enforcement and emergency services personnel have been deployed to the scene—500 employees of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and over 400 National Police officers are on the ground.

Zelenskyy expects the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) to conduct a detailed investigation into what happened in Vyshneve.

Following the Russian strike on Vyshneve, which led to a massive fire, repeated explosions, and the evacuation of residents, public calls have intensified for an investigation into the location of potentially dangerous facilities near residential areas.
