He said that, according to the plan, Ukraine is to open the remaining clusters (2–3 and 4–5) by the end of 2026.

This will be possible once Hungary lifts its veto on opening the clusters. Hungary has committed to doing so after Ukraine adopts amendments to the “On Education” law regarding education in the languages of national minorities.

“We are fulfilling our obligations. And this should also be reflected in the progress of accession negotiations. We expect the remaining clusters to be opened by the end of the year,” said the Deputy Prime Minister.

This was stated by Vsevolod Chentsov, Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, citing the European Parliament.

Ukraine expects to complete its EU accession in 2027, according to Kachka.

At the first meeting of the Council of the European Union’s Working Group on Enlargement (COELA) following the summer break on September 1, the Hungarian delegation once again refused to approve the results of the screening of negotiation clusters 2 and 3 for Ukraine.

Ukraine expects to open the remaining negotiation clusters for accession to the European Union by the end of 2026. Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi discussed progress on European integration with European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos and stated that the government, together with parliament, is working to accelerate the necessary reforms.
