Ukraine ranked among the top 10 countries in the world for cryptocurrency adoption in 2026
Ukraine ranked seventh in the 2026 global cryptocurrency adoption index, moving up one spot compared to the previous study.
The study covers the period from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026.
This year, Chainalysis changed the methodology used to calculate the index. Four key indicators were considered when compiling the ranking:
- the volume of cryptocurrency service usage;
- domestic P2P transactions;
- cross-border cryptocurrency transfers;
- the volume of crypto assets stored on-chain.
In terms of individual components, Ukraine ranked eighth in terms of cryptocurrency service usage and on-chain balances.
At the same time, Ukraine ranked sixth in terms of domestic P2P activity and cross-border flows.
The top six positions in the ranking were held by:
- Brazil;
- the United States;
- Nigeria;
- Japan;
- South Korea;
- India.
Ukraine ranked seventh, ahead of Thailand, South Africa, and Canada.
In Chainalysis’s previous ranking, Ukraine was in eighth place, meaning the country moved up one spot this year. At the same time, the analytics firm notes that a direct comparison of results between years is limited due to changes in the research methodology.
According to Chainalysis, global cryptocurrency market capitalization fell by approximately 50% during the study period.
At the same time, overall activity in the crypto economy decreased much less—by only 1.6%, to $9.4 trillion.
Thus, despite a significant drop in cryptocurrency market capitalization, activity levels in the global cryptoeconomy remained relatively stable.
The relevant data is contained in the Global Crypto Adoption Index 2026, prepared by the analytics firm Chainalysis.
As a reminder, global military spending reached $2.6 trillion in 2025, and countries around the world allocated an average of 2.01% of their GDP to defense. These figures are cited in a report by the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS).
