The government has allocated 3.5 billion hryvnia for the repair of major roads in the regions
The Cabinet of Ministers has decided to allocate an additional 3.5 billion hryvnias from the state budget’s reserve fund for the urgent repair of local roads. The funds will primarily go toward repairing the most problematic sections, which are critical for the evacuation of the population, logistics, and meeting the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The funds will be directed toward restoring the most critical sections of the road network in all regions of the country. “We will repair critical sections of local roads to improve the safety of residents and logistics for the Defense Forces,” the head of government noted.
Svyrydenko emphasized that the quality of local roads directly affects citizens’ safety and access to basic services.
“For people, this is a matter of safety and faster access to hospitals, maternity wards, and schools. For our Defense Forces, it is a matter of evacuation, logistics, and supplying units,” the prime minister emphasized.
According to the government, funding will be provided on a co-financing basis. Local budgets are expected to cover part of the costs.
It is expected that the allocated funds will be distributed among all regions of Ukraine. At the same time, the list of specific projects and funding amounts for each region have not yet been made public.
The Cabinet of Ministers emphasizes that priority will be given to those areas that are critical for the functioning of communities, the work of emergency services, and military logistics.
This was reported with reference to a post by Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
Foreign labor in Ukraine is viewed only as an additional tool, according to Svyrydenko.
She outlined this position in a response to an online petition published on the government’s website.
A petition has been registered in Ukraine demanding restrictions on the hiring of foreign workers and prioritizing the recruitment and employment of Ukrainians. The author of the petition calls on the Cabinet of Ministers to develop a “State Strategy for the Protection of the National Labor Market” instead of the mass recruitment of migrant workers.
