Photo: A car sank into the ground while driving in Odesa
In Odesa on the evening of August 5, a passenger car sank into the ground while driving and ended up in a water-filled pit. The driver managed to exit the vehicle on his own, so there were no injuries.
The incident occurred on Petra Bolbochan Street.
The Emergency Rescue Service received a report that a passenger car had begun to sink into the ground while driving. The driver was able to exit the vehicle before it was completely submerged in the water-filled pit.
To resolve the situation, State Emergency Service personnel pumped the water out of the pit using specialized equipment.
Afterward, the car was secured and lifted to the surface using specialized equipment.
The State Emergency Service noted that no one was injured as a result of the incident.
The cause of the sinkhole has not yet been reported. The relevant authorities are investigating the circumstances of the incident.

Earlier, on July 26, an earthquake with a magnitude of 2.8 occurred near Lviv. The tremors were recorded in the Pustomyty urban community of the Lviv district.
As a reminder, on July 9, an earthquake with a magnitude of 1.6 on the Richter scale was recorded in the Khmelnytskyi region. The tremors occurred in the Novoushytska territorial community.
Additionally, on the morning of July 7, an earthquake with a magnitude of 2.6 occurred in the Poltava region. The tremors were weak and, according to experts, posed no danger to the population.
