The number of job openings for students and young people under 18 has increased in Ukraine

In Ukraine, the number of job openings available to students and young people under the age of 18 has increased. The highest number of job openings in June was recorded in the retail, sales, logistics, construction, and food service sectors.

Employers were most frequently looking for salespeople, cashiers, sales consultants, bakers, and sales managers. There was also high demand for loaders, drivers, general laborers, construction workers, cooks, baristas, and waitstaff. For certain professions, the number of job openings increased by 19–34% over the past year.

The largest increase in the number of job openings for young candidates was recorded in the Zakarpattia, Zhytomyr, Lviv, Volyn, and Kirovohrad regions.

According to the study, half of employers are willing to hire candidates without experience, while another 37% are willing to hire young professionals with the expectation of providing further training. Employers cite a labor shortage as one of the main reasons for more actively hiring young people.
