The Verkhovna Rada is operating without a majority of deputies; the first vote has failed, says Goncharenko

Today, March 25, the session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is taking place in the absence of a majority of the members of parliament.

This was reported by Oleksiy Honcharenko, a member of parliament from the “European Solidarity” party.

Currently, only about 40–50 deputies from “Servant of the People” are present in the chamber. Several members of the faction are on vacation, while others are on business trips.

During the first vote, 161 “yes” votes were recorded, which Goncharenko called a crisis in parliament due to the lack of a quorum. He noted that the situation demonstrates low MP attendance and problems with the organization of the Verkhovna Rada’s work.

As a reminder, on March 24, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine did not hold its scheduled plenary session, despite the presence of a number of important bills on the agenda.
