Zelenskyy: Ukraine Will Receive New Aid Packages, Air Defense Systems, and Funding for Drones
Following the Coalition of the Willing summit, Ukraine will receive new military and energy support packages, air defense systems, and additional funding for drone production.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that strengthening air defense remains one of the top priorities. Ukraine, in particular, is working on procuring PAC-3 missiles through the PURL program and other mechanisms, as well as on accelerating the “Freya” project.
Summit participants also discussed intensifying the fight against Russia’s shadow fleet. According to Zelenskyy, French President Emmanuel Macron proposed holding a separate meeting on this issue.
The president emphasized that meetings of the Coalition of the Willing should take place without long intervals. It was proposed that the next summit be held as early as September.
About 30 representatives of countries and international organizations took part in the meeting, including leaders of EU member states and representatives from NATO, Turkey, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, and Australia.
As a reminder, on the night of August 16, the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck a number of key military facilities belonging to Russian forces in the temporarily occupied territories.
On the night of August 17, the Ukrainian military struck targets associated with the storage, preparation, and launch of attack drones, as well as their control systems in Crimea and the Kherson region.
