Zelenskyy presented an order to the EU's top diplomat
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented a high state award—the Order of Princess Olga—to Kaja Kallas, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
The European diplomat announced this on her page on the X platform, expressing gratitude for the recognition of her contribution to supporting the Ukrainian state.
Kallas emphasized that since the first day of Russia’s full-scale invasion, the issue of aid to Ukraine has been a daily priority for her. She assured that in her position, she would make every effort to strengthen the country’s defense capabilities and ensure its continued support from the European community.
This award serves as yet another testament to the close cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union in the fields of security and diplomacy. Official Kyiv has repeatedly noted Kaja Kallas’s active stance on increasing sanctions pressure on the aggressor and accelerating the supply of weapons to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Currently, the parties continue to coordinate steps regarding Ukraine’s European integration and the implementation of joint defense initiatives.
Earlier, Zelenskyy awarded Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen the Order of Princess Olga, First Class, in recognition of her significant personal contribution to strengthening intergovernmental cooperation and supporting Ukraine’s independence and territorial integrity.
Former Prime Minister Sanni Marin (2019–2023) was awarded the Order of Princess Olga, First Class, for her contribution to the development of cooperation with Ukraine.
