Zelenskyy offered Fedorov a new position following his resignation
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy offered Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov the position of advisor to the head of state. However, according to sources, Fedorov declined the offer.
“Zelenskyy offered me the position of his advisor, but I declined,” he said.
Mykhailo Fedorov held a press briefing today, during which he discussed his work as defense minister and the ministry’s plans. He also addressed rumors about his removal from office, which led to numerous protests across Ukraine today.
He added that he had spoken with the president by phone and is scheduled to meet with Zelenskyy again today.
“The people took to the streets not for Fedorov, but for themselves. This isn’t about me right now. It’s about the root of the problem that needs to be solved. It’s impossible to win under these circumstances,” he said, commenting on the protests in the country.
Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov made these remarks at a briefing.
Zelenskyy acknowledged that Fedorov lost his position due to a conflict with Syrsky.
Ukrainian MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak revealed the likely composition of the new Cabinet of Ministers, which may be headed by Serhiy Koretskyi. At the same time, a final decision on some of the candidates has not yet been made, particularly regarding Fedorov.
Zelenskyy had also previously stated that he had not yet made a decision regarding Fedorov’s future in the government.
