Drones have again attacked the port of Ust-Luga in the Leningrad Oblast of the Russian Federation

Drones have again attacked the port of Ust-Luga in the Leningrad Oblast of the Russian Federation

On the night of March 31, the Russian seaport of Ust-Luga came under a massive drone attack for the third time in a month.

The attack caused new damage to one of the aggressor country’s largest energy hubs, significantly undermining its export potential.

The first reports of explosions and intense gunfire began coming in around midnight from the Kingisepp district.

In addition to Ust-Luga, residents of the Kirishsky, Luzhsky, and Tosnensky districts of the Leningrad Region heard the sounds of air defense systems in operation.

Regional Governor Alexander Drozdov confirmed that as of 6:00 a.m., at least 38 unmanned aerial vehicles had been shot down over the region.

“About 20 drones were shot down over Ust-Luga. The repulsion of the enemy air raid is ongoing,” the official stated, adding that damage has been reported in the port area.

Satellite data from NASA’s FIRMS service detected thermal anomalies in the tank farm area of the Ust-Luga Oil terminal.

There are also reports of possible strikes in the area of Novatek’s gas condensate fractionation complex.

These strikes are part of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ systematic strategy to disable facilities that finance Russian aggression.

The port of Ust-Luga is critical for the export of petroleum products in the Baltic region, and each such attack forces the enemy to reduce fuel transshipment volumes.

As a reminder, drones attacked a metallurgical plant in occupied Alchevsk.

Drones also attacked industrial facilities in the Samara region and Yaroslavl.
