Photos, videos: Two oil refineries caught fire in Russia following a drone attack
On the night of August 11, fires broke out simultaneously at two oil refineries in Russia. One is located in the Khabarovsk Krai in the Far East, and the other is in the Orenburg Oblast.
Overnight, a fire engulfed the Komsomolsk Oil Refinery in the Khabarovsk Krai of the Russian Federation.
According to eyewitnesses, the facility may have been struck by Ukrainian drones.
The Komsomolsk Oil Refinery is one of the key suppliers of petroleum products to Russia’s Far East. Its design capacity is 8.5 million metric tons of crude oil per year.
Information regarding the extent of the damage and the potential impact on the plant’s operations is currently being verified.
Another large-scale fire broke out at an oil refinery in Orsk, Orenburg Oblast, approximately 1,500 km from Ukraine.
According to OSINT sources, the facility in question is “Orsknefteorgsintez.” Reports indicate that explosions were heard on the plant’s grounds before the fire broke out, after which a fierce blaze erupted.

There is currently no official confirmation regarding the cause of the fire at the facility.
Against the backdrop of fires at Russian oil refineries, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced a massive drone attack on Moscow and the surrounding region.
According to him, between 8:30 p.m. on August 10 and 8:30 a.m. on August 11, 237 drones were flying toward the Moscow region.

Sobyanin claims that Russian air defense forces allegedly destroyed most of the drones on the outskirts of the region. Another 13 drones, he said, were shot down as they were approaching Moscow.

In Dnipro on Friday, August 7, a World Health Organization humanitarian warehouse was destroyed as a result of an attack. There were no people on the premises at the time of the strike, and no casualties were reported.
