The General Staff announced that two oil refineries and a radar station in Russia had been struck

The Defense Forces confirmed that a number of Russian military, fuel and energy, and industrial facilities were struck on September 24 and during the night of September 25. Two oil refineries and two radar stations in the Novoshakhtinsk area were struck, causing fires to break out at the facilities.

 

In Perm, Perm Krai, Russia, the “Lukoil-Permnefteorgsintez” oil refinery was hit. A fire broke out on the facility’s grounds following the attack.

According to the Defense Forces, the refinery’s processing capacity is approximately 13 million metric tons of crude oil per year. The facility produces fuel and other petroleum products and, according to the Ukrainian side, is involved in supplying Russian troops with fuel and lubricants.

In the Rostov Region of the Russian Federation, the Novoshakhtinsk Oil Refinery was struck. A fire was also reported on the facility’s grounds.

In addition, strikes on the Russian 64L6 “Gamma-S1” and 39N6 “Kasta-2E2” radar stations have been confirmed in the Novoshakhtinsk area.

The Novoshakhtinsk Oil Refinery’s capacity is estimated at approximately 7.5 million metric tons of crude oil per year. The facility is one of the suppliers of petroleum products in southern Russia.

“The strikes against oil refining facilities are Ukraine’s exercise of its inalienable right to self-defense in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter and are aimed at reducing the military and economic potential of the Russian Federation.

Operations against key military and infrastructure targets of the Russian aggressor are ongoing,” the General Staff emphasized.

As a reminder, two more Russian oil refineries halted operations following drone attacks.

Overnight, three regions in Russia came under attack.

Drones also attacked the Iskra plant and the Perm oil refinery in Russia.
