The Main Intelligence Directorate warned of a threat to Starlink stations in the EU and NATO

Russian intelligence agencies are preparing new hybrid operations on the territory of European Union and NATO countries. Starlink satellite internet receiving stations are among the Russian Federation’s likely targets.

According to Ukrainian intelligence, Russian intelligence agencies have been tasked with stepping up their activities within EU and NATO countries.

The goal of these new hybrid operations is to undermine aid to Ukraine and weaken the capabilities of the North Atlantic Alliance.

To carry out these operations—particularly those of a sabotage nature—Russia plans to deploy agents in Europe who have been recruited by the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces and the Federal Security Service of Russia.

Russian intelligence agencies are targeting military facilities, critical infrastructure, and communications systems. Among the likely targets of Russian intelligence agencies, the Main Intelligence Directorate specifically mentions Starlink satellite internet receiving stations located in European countries.

According to intelligence reports, Russia is thus seeking to undermine Western partners’ support for Ukraine while simultaneously weakening NATO’s capabilities.

The Main Intelligence Directorate warned that to carry out these plans, Moscow intends to use a network of agents directly within European countries. These are individuals recruited by Russian intelligence services who may be involved in sabotage operations.

As a reminder, Budanov wants to expand Starlink to counter Russian missiles.

Poland has stated that Russia may be involved in the fire at the Starlink ground station.

On the evening of September 23, a fire broke out at a Starlink satellite ground station in the village of Wola Krobowska in the Masovian Voivodeship. Polish authorities suspect the fire may have been set intentionally.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated that the fire at the Starlink ground station in the Masovian Voivodeship “doesn’t look good,” although he is refraining from making definitive assessments regarding sabotage until he receives 100 percent confirmation.
