There are still 350 children in the Donetsk region who have been forcibly evacuated
In the settlements of Donetsk Oblast where the forced evacuation of families with children is underway, 350 children from 299 families remain. The largest number of these children is in the Kramatorsk community, where 341 children from 291 families remain.

“In the settlements where mandatory evacuation has been declared, a total of 350 children from 299 families remain behind with their parents, guardians, or other legal representatives,” Ryzhakova reported. According to her, these families are located in five settlements across three territorial communities.
The largest number of children remains in the Kramatorsk community
The largest number of families with children who have not yet left is in the Kramatorsk community. There are 341 children in 291 families remaining there. Thus, the Kramatorsk community accounts for the vast majority of children currently in the zone where a decision on the mandatory evacuation of families with children is in effect.
In total, this involves five settlements in three communities within the region. Authorities are continuing to work with the families who remain there. The goal is to evacuate children from areas where Russian shelling poses a constant threat to their lives and health.
81 children were evacuated in one week
Efforts to evacuate children from dangerous areas are ongoing. In the past week alone, 81 children from 66 families were forcibly evacuated from the Donetsk region.
In other words, in seven days, the number of children successfully evacuated from dangerous settlements exceeded 80. In August, the pace of evacuation was even faster. Over the course of the entire month, 352 children from 270 families were evacuated from the region. This means that in a single month, roughly as many children were evacuated as are currently still remaining in settlements subject to forced evacuation.
Why Children Are Evacuated Along with Their Families
Mandatory evacuation applies to families with children who are in settlements where the situation is particularly dangerous. This is not merely a recommendation to leave. If a decision is made to forcibly evacuate children, they must be taken away together with their parents, guardians, or other legal representatives.
These measures are primarily due to the constant threat of Russian shelling. The Donetsk region remains one of the regions of Ukraine most affected by Russian attacks. In communities near the front lines, shelling can occur regularly, so it is particularly dangerous for children to remain there.
Evacuation in the Donetsk region is ongoing
According to the Donetsk Regional State Administration, despite the efforts made, the evacuation is not yet complete. Currently, 299 families with 350 children remain in five settlements across three territorial communities.
The largest number is in the Kramatorsk community: 341 children in 291 families. At the same time, 81 children from 66 families were evacuated in the past week alone, and a total of 352 children from 270 families were evacuated in August. Evacuation efforts are continuing, as the authorities’ main goal is to remove children from areas where they face daily threats due to Russian attacks. Yulia Ryzhakova, head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration’s Children’s Services Department, reported this during an online briefing.
On the morning of September 2, Russian troops continued their attack on Ukraine using strike drones. Explosions were heard in Kyiv and the Kyiv region, where air defense forces are operating.
On the night of September 2, Russia launched a massive strike against Ukraine using missiles and more than 170 drones. Air defense forces repelled the attack, during which the enemy used, among other things, “Iskander” and “Banderole” missiles.
Russian troops attacked one of the industrial facilities in the Poltava district. Rescue workers were on the scene following the enemy strike.
