There were 239 combat engagements on the front lines, with the highest number occurring in the Pokrovsk sector
Today marks the 1,639th day of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 239 combat engagements took place on the front lines over the past 24 hours.
Russian forces carried out one missile strike and 87 airstrikes, during which they fired two missiles and dropped 302 guided bombs. In addition, the occupiers deployed 11,130 kamikaze drones and carried out 3,070 shelling attacks on Ukrainian military positions and populated areas, including 27 attacks using multiple-launch rocket systems (MLRS).
Over the past day, the Ukrainian Defense Forces’ air force, missile forces, and artillery struck nine areas where enemy personnel were concentrated, two artillery systems, and one UAV launch site.
Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk Directions
Ukrainian defenders repelled three attacks by Russian forces. The enemy carried out 54 shelling attacks on Ukrainian Armed Forces positions and populated areas, two of which involved the use of MLRS. The Russians also carried out five airstrikes, using 14 guided bombs.
Southern Slobozhansky Direction
Defense forces repelled 10 enemy attacks. Russian assault forces attempted to advance near Izbytske, Dovzhanka, Starytsia, Mitrofanivka, Lozova Druha, Radkivka, Bochkove, and Okhrymivka.
Kupiansk Sector
The enemy carried out two offensive operations in the direction of Novoosynove and Kurylivka.
Liman Sector
Russian troops attacked six times in the direction of Lyman and Drobysheve, as well as in the areas of Ridkodub and Novoselivka. All attempts to breach Ukrainian defenses were repelled.
Sloviansk Sector
The occupiers carried out 16 assaults in the areas of Riznykivka, Kryva Luka, Zakytne, and in the direction of Rai-Oleksandrivka and Mykolaivka.
Kramatorsk Sector
One offensive operation by Russian forces was recorded in the direction of Izhevka.
Kostiantynivka Sector
On this section of the front, the enemy carried out 31 attacks. Assaults continued near Kostiantynivka, Novoselivka, Dovha Balka, Ivanopilya, Illinivka, Sofiivka, and Rusyn Yar, as well as in the direction of Vilne, Stepanivka, Novopavlivka, and Kucherov Yar.
Pokrovsk Sector
Russian troops carried out 27 attacks. The occupiers attempted to advance near Udachne, Novooleksandrivka, Molodetske, Kotlyne, and in the direction of Bilytske, Novyi Donbas, Shevchenko, Serhiivka, Vasylivka, Myrne, and Hannivka.
Oleksandrivka Sector
The enemy carried out three attacks in the direction of Novoye Zaporozhye, Rybne, and Sosnivka.
Hulyaypil sector
Russian troops attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders 12 times. Assaults took place in the direction of Rivne, Dobropillia, Zaliznychne, Novoselivka, Lisne, Charivne, and Hirke.
Orikhiv Sector
Ukrainian forces repelled one enemy attempt to advance in the Plavny area.
Dnipro Sector
Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops did not conduct any offensive operations.
Volyn and Polissya sectors
No signs of Russian offensive groupings have been detected.
Russian troops shelled settlements in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions. In particular, the following locations came under artillery fire: Korenok, Sopych, Bachivsk, Neskuchne, Bezsalivka, Ulanove, Tovstodubove, Luzhky, Volfyne, Yastrubshchyna, and Seredina-Buda in the Sumy region, as well as Tymanovychi, Senkivka, Huta-Studenetska, Yanzhulivka, and Topolia in the Chernihiv region.
Tovstodubove and Rybtsi were hit by airstrikes.
Overall, the situation on the front remains tense: Russian troops are most active in the Kostiantynivka, Pokrovsk, Sloviansk, and Huliaipole sectors.

On August 19, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported new losses suffered by the Russian army. Over the past day, Ukrainian defenders eliminated 1,190 invaders, and the total losses of Russian personnel since the start of the full-scale invasion have exceeded 1.47 million soldiers.
As a reminder, on August 18 in Kramatorsk, a Russian “Shahed” struck a modular shelter. The protective structure sustained significant damage from the direct hit.
On August 18, 2026, jet-powered drones were detected for the first time in western Ukraine. They traveled approximately 900 km from their launch site.
