Three unidentified soldiers were buried at the National Military Cemetery
On the Day of Remembrance for the Defenders of Ukraine, three fallen Ukrainian soldiers, whose names have not yet been identified, were buried at the National Military Memorial Cemetery.
“They gave their lives in the fight for the freedom of our land, and although their names have yet to be identified, the state honored its heroes with the utmost respect. Each soldier was buried with dignity and full military honors,” the statement reads.
Those who participated in the funeral ceremony for the defenders included, among others, the Head of the Office of the President, Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov; Deputy Head of the Office of the President Iryna Vereshchuk; Minister of Veterans Affairs Vitaliy Kim; Minister of Social Policy, Family, and Unity Denys Ulyutin, Minister of Internal Affairs Ivan Vygivskyi, Deputy Head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration Ivan Dobrovolskyi, and Deputy Head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration Yevhen Konchakovskyi.
The ceremony was also attended by servicemen of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, veterans, families of fallen defenders, members of the public, clergy, and other visitors to the memorial.
The fallen soldiers were carried along the Avenue of Remembrance through a corridor of honor. After the burial ceremony, military chaplains of various faiths offered prayers for all the fallen defenders. Each prayed according to their own religious tradition.
It is noted that the state will continue working to restore the names of each of these soldiers even after their burial. “After all, regardless of whether a name has been identified, each of them is a Defender of Ukraine,” the National Military Memorial Complex emphasizes.
Also today, a “Table of Remembrance” was installed on the cemetery grounds at the initiative of the Grabar Foundation. Family members and loved ones of the fallen, fellow soldiers, and other visitors wrote the names of the soldiers whose memory they cherish on special cards.
As part of an initiative by the civic organization “Vshanuy,” the relatives of the fallen defenders, military personnel, and other participants took part, among other activities, in “wreath-weaving”—the communal creation of memorial wreaths, which is an ancient Ukrainian tradition of honoring the fallen. The woven wreaths and fresh flowers were placed on the soldiers’ graves as a symbol of love and remembrance.

“The first strike in the Bucha district targeted a Defense Forces ammunition depot,” said Zelenskyy.
Zelenskyy announced parity between the occupied and liberated territories.
