The occupiers have intensified their assaults near Pokrovsk: 173 clashes have taken place
On August 31, there were 173 combat engagements between the Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian troops along the front lines. The enemy was most active in the Pokrovsk sector, where more than 30 enemy assaults were recorded.
Ukrainian troops neutralized more than 70 Russian occupiers in this sector. Overall, the Pokrovsk sector remains one of the hottest spots on the front line.
“In total, 173 combat engagements have taken place since the start of this day. The enemy carried out 66 airstrikes and dropped 218 guided bombs. In addition, it deployed 6,542 kamikaze drones and carried out 2,049 shelling attacks on populated areas and our troops’ positions,” the report states.
No enemy offensive activity was recorded in the Northern Slobozhansky and Kursk sectors.
Over the past 24 hours, in the Southern Slobozhansky direction, the enemy launched 13 assaults on the positions of our units near Staritsa, Chugunivka, Khatne, Malaya Vovcha, Dovhenke, and Okhrimivka; two more clashes are still ongoing.
In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy did not carry out any offensive operations.
Five attempts by the invaders to advance were repelled in the Lyman sector in the areas of Novoselivka, Drobysheve, Dibrova, and Stavky.
In the Sloviansk direction, the Defense Forces successfully halted two attempts by the invaders to advance near Ozerny and Kryva Luka.
In the Kramatorsk sector, no assault operations by the occupiers were reported.
In the Kostiantynivka sector, the Defense Forces repelled 16 enemy assaults near Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, Novoselivka, and Pavlivka.
A total of 32 attacks were repelled in the Pokrovsk sector. The occupiers attempted to advance in the areas of the settlements of Sofiivka, Vilne, Kucheriiv Yar, Dorozhne, Stepy, Shevchenko, Bilytske, Vasylivka, Serhiivka, Udachne, Muravka, and Novopavlivka. Three firefights are ongoing.
According to preliminary estimates, 53 occupiers were eliminated and 18 were wounded there today; two artillery systems, five vehicles, one piece of specialized equipment, one drone control center, and 51 enemy shelters were destroyed. Nine artillery systems, four vehicles, four drone control centers, and 127 enemy shelters were damaged. A total of 326 drones of various types were destroyed or neutralized.
In the Oleksandrivka sector, the occupiers did not carry out any active operations.
Four attacks by the occupiers were recorded in the Huliaipole sector near the settlements of Kosivtseve, Vozdvizhivka, and Tsvitkove.
In the Orikhiv sector, our defenders repelled one enemy attack near Malaya Tokmachka.
There were no enemy assaults in the Dnipro sector.
In other sectors, there were no significant changes in the situation, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine concluded.

In Kyiv, rescue workers extinguished a large-scale fire that broke out in the Holosiivskyi district following a Russian attack on the morning of August 30. The fire engulfed a non-residential building covering an area of about 3,000 square meters; there were no casualties or injuries.
