During the attack on the Kyiv region, air defense forces shot down one missile; two struck the Bucha district

On July 24, at approximately 11:30 a.m., Russian forces launched an attack on the Kyiv region with three Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles from the north. Air defense forces intercepted one missile; the other two struck the Bucha district.

The Air Force reported that the strike resulted in fatalities and injuries, and expressed condolences to the families of the victims.

In addition, at approximately 11:45 a.m., Russian troops attacked the Odesa region with two “Onyx” anti-ship missiles launched from the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea. Thanks to the active countermeasures taken by the Defense Forces, the missiles did not reach their targets.

Also over the past 24 hours, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., more than 90 Russian attack drones were detected in Ukrainian airspace, over a third of which were jet-powered.

As of 4:30 p.m., air defense forces had shot down or neutralized 81 enemy drones.

The Air Force urged citizens not to ignore air raid alerts, to follow announcements from official sources, and to take shelter in the event of a ballistic missile threat.

This was reported on July 24 by the Ukrainian Air Force.

As a reminder, two Russian ballistic missiles struck a private sports complex in the Kyiv region, not a Ukrainian Armed Forces training ground. This was reported by Air Force spokesperson Yuriy Ignat.

Cleanup efforts following the Russian ballistic strike are ongoing in the Kyiv region. In the Bucha district, 27 private homes and 44 vehicles were damaged as a result of the shelling.

On the afternoon of July 24, Russia launched a ballistic strike on a private training ground in the Kyiv region, where an event involving representatives of the Ukrainian defense industry was taking place. At least 10 people were killed in the attack, and about 100 more were injured. Law enforcement authorities have opened two criminal investigations—one into a war crime committed by the Russian Federation and another into possible official negligence during the organization of the event.
