A topographic officer with the Russian Ministry of Defense was killed in an explosion in the Moscow region

In the city of Balashikha in the Moscow Region, a high-ranking military officer—Russian Army Colonel Damir Davydov—was killed when his own vehicle was blown up. The occupier headed the department for the supply of missiles and artillery ammunition within the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Defense. 

According to preliminary data, the explosion was caused by a homemade device with a power of approximately 500 grams of TNT equivalent, which was planted in the military officer’s vehicle at his place of residence. Davydov died at the scene from his injuries. The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation confirmed the fatal explosion and opened a criminal case, while attempting to conceal the exact details regarding the identity of the deceased. It is known that Colonel Davydov was directly involved in organizing the full-scale invasion of Ukraine beginning on February 24, 2022, and was responsible for the logistics and supply of missiles and ammunition used by Russian troops to shell Ukrainian cities.
