The Pokrovsk sector remains the hottest spot on the front line — General Staff

On August 7, there were 192 combat engagements between Ukrainian defenders and Russian troops along the front lines. The occupiers were most active in the Pokrovsk direction—25 assaults were recorded there over the past 24 hours, and Ukrainian forces neutralized 56 Russian soldiers.

 

In total, since the start of the day, Russian forces have launched one missile strike involving two missiles and carried out 53 airstrikes. The occupiers dropped 176 guided bombs, deployed 6,540 kamikaze drones, and carried out 2,359 shelling attacks on Ukrainian positions and populated areas.

Where the Russians Tried to Advance

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, Ukrainian forces repelled six Russian attacks. In addition, the occupiers shelled Ukrainian Armed Forces positions and populated areas 42 times. Two of these shelling incidents involved the use of multiple-launch rocket systems.

In the Southern Slobozhansky sector, Russian troops stormed Ukrainian military positions six times. Fighting took place near Hoptivka, Zapadne, Petropavlivka, and Lyman.

In the Kupiansk sector, the occupiers attempted twice to advance toward Novoplatonivka. As of the evening, one engagement was still ongoing.

In the Lyman sector, Russian troops launched two offensive attempts near Novoselivka and Lyman. One battle was also still ongoing.

In the Sloviansk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 12 Russian attempts to advance. The occupiers attacked near Zakitne, Kryva Luka, Piskunivka, Kaleniky, and Riznykivka. Two more clashes were ongoing.

In the Kramatorsk sector, one enemy assault was recorded in the area of Orikhovo-Vasylivka.

19 assaults near Kostiantynivka

In the Kostiantynivka sector, Russian forces attempted to break through Ukrainian defenses 19 times. The attacks took place near Ivanopil, Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, Novoselivka, Toretsk, and Mykolaipil. Another battle in this sector was still ongoing as of this evening. Separately, the situation in the Pokrovsk sector remains tense.

Over the past 24 hours, 25 attacks took place here. Russian troops attempted to advance near Toretsk, Bilytske, Dorozhne, Hannivka, Rodynske, Shevchenko, Novohryshyne, Myrne, Serhiivka, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novopidhorodne, Novopavlivka, and Mykolaivka. According to preliminary data from the General Staff, Ukrainian forces eliminated 37 invaders there, and another 19 Russian soldiers were wounded.

Ukrainian forces also destroyed three enemy vehicles and one piece of special equipment. Two more Russian artillery systems and three vehicles were damaged. In addition, Ukrainian forces destroyed or neutralized 364 enemy drones of various types.

Situation in the South

In the Oleksandrivka sector, Russian troops did not carry out any assault operations. Meanwhile, in the Huliaipole sector, Ukrainian forces repelled eight attacks. The occupiers attempted to advance in the areas of Vozdvizhivka, Rivne, Staroukrainka, and Charivne. Ukrainian defenders halted two more Russian attacks in the Orikhiv sector—near Lukyanivske and Pavlivka.

In the Dnipro sector, no assaults by Russian forces were recorded over the past 24 hours. The General Staff noted that there were no significant changes in the situation in other sectors.

As a result of a Russian missile attack on the night of August 5, production and logistics facilities belonging to the company “Epicenter” sustained significant damage. One employee was killed, and three others were injured. 

As a result of a Russian drone attack on August 4 in Dnipro, a warehouse belonging to the company “Biosfera”—which was part of a 20,000-square-meter warehouse complex—was completely destroyed.
