Air defence downs 88 of 105 drones used by Russia to attack Ukraine

Ukrainian air defence forces neutralised 88 out of 105 drones launched by Russian troops against Ukraine from the evening of 3 February.

This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Telegram.

Ukraine’s Minister of Defence Mykhailo Fedorov held talks with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, UK Defence Secretary John Healey, and German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius. During the discussions, the parties agreed on key priorities for further support to Ukraine, particularly in the areas of air defence and arms supplies, ahead of the next meeting in the Ramstein format.

Earlier, it was reported that Russian forces have begun using drones equipped with Starlink satellite communications. Ukraine has already documented such cases and must respond as quickly as possible, Fedorov said during the Army of Drones – 2025 event.

Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence, together with SpaceX, is working to address the issue of Russian drones using Starlink satellite systems.
