Air defense forces shot down 63 Russian drones during a nighttime attack

On the evening of September 15 and overnight on September 16, Russia attacked Ukraine with 80 drones. Air defense forces shot down 63 enemy drones.

 

Starting at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 15, the enemy launched 80 attack drones—including Shahed-type drones (some of which were jet-powered), “Gerbera” drones, and “Parody”-type decoy drones—from the following directions: Orel, Kursk, Millerovo (Russian Federation), Gvardeyskoye, and Chauda (temporarily occupied Crimea).

The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

According to preliminary data, as of 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 16, air defense forces had shot down or neutralized 63 drones.

Hits were recorded at seven locations, and downed drones (debris) were found at two locations.

As a reminder, air defense forces engaged Russian drones in the Kyiv region.

Earlier, three Ukrainians fighting for Russia were captured in Chasiv Yar.

On September 15, a Russian drone strike was recorded in the Svyatoshynsky district of Kyiv.
