Putin begins talks in Moscow with Witkoff and Kushner
Russian President Vladimir Putin, the leader of the aggressor state, has begun talks in Moscow with US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of US President Donald Trump. The meeting is devoted to efforts to end Russia’s war against Ukraine, Anadolu Agency reports.

According to the Kremlin, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov and presidential envoy Kirill Dmitriev are also taking part in the meeting. Witkoff and Kushner arrived at Moscow’s Vnukovo Airport earlier on September 5, where they were met by Dmitriev.
This is Putin’s sixth meeting with US envoys since the start of US-mediated negotiations on settling the war. At the end of January, Witkoff and Kushner had already visited Moscow and met with Putin at the Kremlin.

United States proposal
On the eve of the meeting, Trump said that Witkoff and Kushner had traveled to Moscow not with new ideas, but with a proposal to end the war, which has been ongoing for more than four years. He did not provide details of the proposal’s content.
Following their trip to Moscow, the US envoys are expected to visit Kyiv on Sunday.
