Russia attacked the Kyiv region with strike drones, damaging civilian infrastructure
On the morning of August 18, 2026, Russian forces attacked the Kyiv region with strike drones. The region’s civilian infrastructure was targeted.
As of 7:30 a.m., an office building, warehouse facilities, and a private home in the Brovary District were damaged as a result of the attack.
According to preliminary reports, no one was injured. There have been no reports of fatalities either.
The Kyiv Regional Military Administration emphasized that enemy shelling is ongoing, so residents of the region were urged to remain in shelters or other safe places until the air raid alert ends.
“The enemy continues to attack the Kyiv region. The region’s civilian infrastructure is under attack by enemy drones,” the statement reads.
“The enemy attack is ongoing. We ask residents of the region to remain in safe places until the air raid alert ends. Take care of yourselves and your loved ones,” the Kyiv Regional Military Administration emphasized.

Over the course of August 17, Russian troops attacked 59 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region, resulting in two deaths and four injuries. Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, reported on the consequences of the Russian strikes.
As a reminder, air defense systems were activated in the Kyiv region due to a Russian attack.
Earlier, Ukraine certified the long-range “Dovbush T40” UAV.
