Russia is sending columns of armored vehicles toward Dobropillya, but the assaults have been unsuccessful, according to the ISW

Russian troops continue to carry out regular mechanized assaults in the Dobropillia sector, using convoys consisting of large numbers of armored vehicles. At the same time, such attacks result in significant losses for the occupiers and, for the most part, fail to achieve the expected results.

According to ISW estimates, Russian forces periodically advance columns of 10–15 armored vehicles toward Dobropillia.

An officer from the staff of the Ukrainian brigade operating in this sector stated on September 2 that the Russians are well aware of the high probability of their vehicles being destroyed during such attacks.

According to him, only one vehicle may reach a designated point after an assault.

The ISW notes that Russian forces continue to use mechanized vehicles despite the significant risks and losses.

ISW analysts believe that the Russian command likely considers the Dobropillia sector to be one of its priorities.

The area holds not only military but also symbolic significance for the occupiers. Russian troops are attempting to bypass the fortified Ukrainian defense line from the southwest.

This is precisely why the Russian command continues to divert significant resources here, despite the losses of armored vehicles during mechanized attacks.

At the same time, Ukrainian forces continue to hold their positions in the Dobropillia tactical sector.

According to the ISW, Russian forces have not made any significant advances in this sector, despite repeated attempts to attack.

Analysts have also reported that Ukrainian forces are holding their positions or advancing in the Dobropillia tactical area, which contradicts certain statements by the Russian side regarding alleged significant successes.

Thus, Russian mechanized assaults in the Dobropillia sector remain costly for the occupiers, and their ability to achieve their objectives remains limited for now.

This is stated in a new report by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

Over the past 24 hours, 215 combat engagements took place along the front lines. In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, Ukrainian forces repelled seven enemy attacks, continuing to contain the offensive operations of Russian forces.

Ukraine’s air defense forces shot down 135 of the 163 drones that Russian troops have used to attack the country’s territory since the evening of September 2.

On September 3, a man was injured in the Boryspil district of Kyiv Oblast as a result of a Russian attack. It is known that one person was wounded by the enemy strike.

In the Khmelnytskyi region, debris from a downed Russian strike drone caused a fire in the warehouse of one of the local enterprises. The fire covered an area of 200 square meters, according to Serhiy Tyurin, head of the regional military administration.

Over the past day, 15 private homes were damaged in the Mykolaiv region as a result of attacks by Russian Shahed-type strike drones. A social services building and three cars were also damaged, according to Mykolaiv Regional State Administration Head Georgiy Reshetilov.
