Over the past 24 hours, Russia has carried out nearly 40 strikes on the Sumy region; there are casualties and injuries

Over the course of 24 hours—from the morning of September 8 to the morning of September 9—Russian forces carried out nearly 40 strikes on 20 settlements in the Sumy region. The attacks resulted in deaths and injuries, and damaged or destroyed civilian infrastructure and residential buildings.

In the Sumy community, an 83-year-old woman was killed when a Russian drone struck a car. Two other men, including a 61-year-old, were injured.

A 78-year-old woman and a 68-year-old man were also injured in a Russian drone attack.

In the Sumy district, Russian drones struck a train. Thirteen people were injured in the attack—men aged 74, 78, 76, 54, and 19, and women aged 60, 71, 68, 69, 67, 79, and 82.

Another fatal incident occurred in the Mykolaiv rural community, where a 78-year-old man was killed when an unknown object exploded.

The highest number of attacks over the past 24 hours was recorded in the Sumy and Shostka districts.

Russian forces used mortars, artillery, FPV drones, attack UAVs, and guided aerial bombs.

As a result of the shelling, destruction and damage to civilian infrastructure were reported in several communities across the region.

Civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged in the Krasnopil, Stepanivka, Shostka, and Mykolaiv communities.

In the Sumy community, a car was destroyed, and a civilian infrastructure facility and another car were damaged.

In the Seredyna-Budsk community, an administrative building was damaged and residential buildings were destroyed.

In the Khutir-Mykhailivska community, a private residential building was damaged.

In the Zno-Novgorod community, a civilian infrastructure facility and a non-residential building were damaged.

In the Esman community, a residential property was destroyed.

Russian troops continue to carry out systematic attacks on border communities in Sumy Oblast, using various types of weapons and strike drones.

This was reported by the Sumy Regional Military Administration on Facebook.

On September 9, the aftermath of a Russian attack was observed in the Darnytskyi and Holosiivskyi districts of Kyiv. The enemy strike caused fires in two districts of the capital.

As a reminder, fires broke out at industrial facilities in the Kyiv region due to a Russian attack.

Russia also launched a massive attack on Kyiv, killing and wounding civilians.

Later, rescue workers showed the aftermath of the strikes on Kyiv.
