Russia attacked Ukraine with drones; air defense forces destroyed and neutralized 119 targets
On the night of September 23, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 161 attack drones of various types. Among them were 82 jet-powered UAVs. As of 8:00 a.m., air defense forces had destroyed or neutralized 119 enemy drones and three additional “Banderole”/“Dan-T” drones.
The attack began at 6:00 p.m. on September 22. The Russians used Shahed-type UAVs, “Gerbera” UAVs, “Parody” decoy drones, as well as “Banderole” and “Dan-T” UAVs.
The drones were launched from the directions of Orel, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and Millerovo in the Russian Federation, as well as from the temporarily occupied cities of Donetsk and Gvardeyskoye in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
The air attack was repelled by the Ukrainian Air Force, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 8:00 a.m., air defense forces had shot down or neutralized 119 enemy UAVs, including Shaheds, “Gerberas,” and other types of drones. Three “Banderol”/“Dan-T” drones were also destroyed or neutralized.
According to the Air Force, airstrikes were recorded at 18 locations.
At eight additional locations, downed enemy targets and their debris were reported.
At the time of the morning briefing, the attack was still ongoing, and Russian drones remained in the airspace.
The Air Force urged the public to follow safety guidelines during the air attack.

Since the evening of September 22, Russian troops have attacked two districts in the Dnipropetrovsk region more than 10 times. The occupiers used drones and dropped aerial bombs; one person was injured as a result of the attacks.
We should add that drones attacked the temporarily occupied Donetsk and Luhansk regions overnight.
As a reminder, Russia struck Kharkiv on the night of September 23, resulting in one fatality.
On the morning of September 23, air raid alerts were issued in Kyiv and several regions due to the threat of drones.
