Russia preparing massive attacks on Ukraine’s water supply system — Zelensky
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned about a new wave of Russian terror targeting critical infrastructure, including the country’s water supply system.
During a media briefing, he emphasized that the aggressor seeks to create an artificial water shortage for Ukrainian citizens.
New targets of Russian terror
According to the president, after failing to plunge Ukraine into complete darkness during the winter, Moscow shifted the focus of its attacks. Now, not only energy facilities but also logistics routes and water supply networks are at risk.
“Yes, Russia is preparing a new wave of strikes on infrastructure, logistics, and water supply. They want us to have problems specifically with water,” Zelensky said.

Such a scenario requires local authorities to concentrate fully on protecting vital resources. Communities are urged to prepare in advance, while the central government focuses on strengthening defense capabilities and obtaining new air defense systems to intercept enemy missiles.
Strengthening positions and security guarantees
Despite ongoing threats, Ukraine demonstrates resilience and enters a new stage of confrontation from a stronger position. The energy blackmail did not bring the enemy the desired results, which has reinforced Kyiv’s international authority.
“First of all, we are already stronger because we survived this winter together. Russia understands that energy terror occurred, but it did not break Ukraine,” Zelensky noted.
This allows Ukraine to negotiate with partners from a position of strength and confidence in its defense capabilities. An important step in strengthening the state has been the finalization of a security agreement with a key ally.
Zelensky confirmed that a strategic document on security guarantees between Ukraine and the United States has been fully prepared.
“First of all, there are security guarantees between us and the U.S. The partners need to sign this. The document is ready. In this position, we will definitely appear stronger,” the president concluded.
For reference, Zelensky also announced plans for negotiations with Russia despite escalating tensions in Iran. He described the U.S. and Israeli operation in Iran as a “signal” for Putin.
