Russians wounded 28 people in the Kherson region, including a child

Over the past day, Russian troops attacked Kherson and dozens of settlements in the region. As a result of the strikes, 28 people were injured, including a 16-year-old boy. Residential buildings, civilian vehicles, municipal equipment, an evacuation vehicle, as well as rescue and municipal service workers were targeted.

 

One of the most severe incidents was an attack in Darivka. A Russian FPV drone struck an evacuation team’s vehicle, which volunteers were using to transport people out of the dangerous town. Eight people were injured in the strike. Among them was a 16-year-old boy.

All the victims suffered blast injuries and shrapnel wounds to various parts of their bodies. They were taken to the hospital. The Kherson Regional Military Administration reported the attack, and the regional police provided details about the victims.

A rescue worker and utility workers were hit

Russian drones also attacked people working on the ground. In Vysokyi, an FPV drone struck a 54-year-old firefighter. The man sustained an explosive injury and a shrapnel wound to his shoulder. He was hospitalized. In the Korabelny district of Kherson, a Russian drone attacked a car. Two utility workers, aged 25 and 55, were in the vehicle.

Both men sustained blast injuries, concussions, and acute stress reactions. Three other utility workers were injured when explosives were dropped from the drone. They are 56, 60, and 67 years old. Medical personnel diagnosed the two older men with blast injuries. The 56-year-old man also sustained a shrapnel wound to his thigh. Police officers transported him to the hospital.

Drone Attacks Police Officer

Another strike occurred on the grounds of a garage cooperative. Russian military forces sent an FPV drone there. A 34-year-old police officer was injured in the explosion. He sustained blast and traumatic brain injuries, a concussion, as well as thermal burns to his face, torso, and limbs.

The police officer was hospitalized. A police vehicle and a civilian car were also damaged.

Dozens of settlements came under fire

According to Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Russian troops struck Kherson and 25 settlements in the region over the past 24 hours. The following settlements were targeted: Novovorontsovka, Oleksandrivka, Urozhayne, Beryslav, Rakivka, Novomykolaivka, Dar’yivka, Novovoskresenske, Bilozerka, Stiyke, Zolota Balka, Tomyna Balka, Dudchany, Antonivka, Lvove, Milove, Mykhailivka, Novokayry, Odradokamyanka, Osokorivka, Tyahynka, Vysoke, Zelenivka, Sadove, and Tarasa Shevchenka.

Russian troops used artillery, tactical aviation, and various types of drones, including “Shaheds.” “As a result of the Russian aggression, 28 people were wounded, including one child,” Prokudin reported.

Damaged Buildings and Infrastructure

Russian strikes damaged residential neighborhoods and critical and social infrastructure. According to the Regional Military Administration, six high-rise buildings and four private homes were damaged. A supermarket, administrative buildings, a store, a pharmacy, and a utility building were also damaged.

A minibus, agricultural equipment, private garages, and cars were also damaged. Separately, police reported an attack on a vehicle belonging to an evacuation team that helps people leave dangerous areas.

Another victim sought medical attention

A 56-year-old shuttle bus driver also sought medical attention. The man was injured on August 13 when a Russian drone struck the Korabelny district of Kherson. He was diagnosed with blast trauma.

Thus, over the past day, Russian attacks in the Kherson region have affected more than just residential areas. People who are evacuating residents, rescuing the injured, working in public utilities, and maintaining order in the city were also caught in the crossfire. This was reported on Telegram by Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration.

Over the past day, the Russian army lost another 1,370 soldiers in Ukraine. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, since the start of the full-scale war, Russia’s total personnel losses have already reached approximately 1,465,810 people.

On the front lines over the past day, August 14, there were 233 combat engagements between Ukrainian troops and Russian occupiers. The Russians actively used aircraft and drones: they carried out 71 airstrikes, dropped 241 guided bombs, and launched 10,626 kamikaze drones.

In Samara, Russia, a fire broke out at the “CSKB-Progress” facility following an attack. According to Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, the plant manufactures medium-class launch vehicles and unmanned space vehicles.
