The Russians destroyed warehouses belonging to tobacco giants JTI and Imperial Brands Ukraine in the Kyiv region
On the night of August 5, 2026, as a result of Russian shelling of the Kyiv region, JTI Ukraine’s warehouses containing finished products were destroyed, and goods belonging to Imperial Brands Ukraine’s distributors and retail partners were also damaged. None of the employees were injured.
JTI stated that it does not expect any disruptions in product deliveries to retail outlets. Meanwhile, Imperial Brands Ukraine estimated its losses at tens of millions of hryvnias and noted that the attack caused only short-term disruptions at select locations in the capital.
Together, these two companies account for 34% of Ukraine’s tobacco market (22% — JTI, 12% — Imperial Brands).
