The Russian army is already facing a shortage of personnel on the front lines — Gnatov

Russian troops are conducting military operations against Ukraine despite a significant shortage of manpower.

This was stated by Andriy Gnativ, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in an interview with Report.az.

According to him, the Russian army’s losses have already nearly equaled the number of contract soldiers being recruited to replenish units, and in some cases even exceed these figures.

Gnatov noted that, despite constant offensive operations, Russian troops have neither strategic nor operational initiative. The enemy, he said, is focusing its main efforts on the Pokrovsk and Oleksandrivka directions in the Donetsk region.

The Chief of the General Staff added that Ukrainian forces are working to stabilize the situation on the front lines and create conditions that could force Russia to move toward negotiations.

The occupiers complain that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are using drones to cut off the land corridor to Crimea.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces eliminated another 1,020 Russian troops on the front lines over the past 24 hours.
