A Russian attack damaged a high school and a cultural center in the Kirovohrad region

In the Kirovohrad region, a lyceum and a cultural center were damaged by a Russian attack. Seventeen windows were shattered at the science lyceum, and three more were damaged at the cultural center. As a result, about 100 students will temporarily switch to remote learning starting tomorrow.

In the Onufriivka community of the Oleksandriia district in the Kirovohrad region, a Russian attack damaged civilian infrastructure. The buildings of the local high school and cultural center were affected. This was reported by Andriy Raikovych, head of the Kirovohrad Regional Military Administration.

According to him, the attack shattered windows in the buildings. “As a result of the enemy attack, civilian infrastructure facilities in the Onufriivka community were damaged. Windows were damaged at the local high school and the community center,” Raikovych said.

He added that local authorities are currently working to ensure the swift restoration of the damaged buildings. Vitaliy Bereza, head of the Onufriivka community, provided further details. In a comment to “Suspilne,” he said that 17 windows were damaged at the science high school. Three more windows were shattered at the local cultural center.

About 100 children attend the lyceum. Due to the damage to the building, students will not be able to fully resume their studies in the usual format. Starting October 5, students will temporarily switch to distance learning. This arrangement will remain in place while necessary repairs are carried out at the lyceum and the issue of replacing the windows is resolved. According to the community leader, local authorities plan to quickly address the consequences of the attack. Once repairs are complete, the students are expected to return to in-person classes.

The Russian attack also damaged the community center. Currently, three shattered windows have been reported, though local authorities have not reported any other damage. Thus, two civilian infrastructure facilities in the Onufriivka community were damaged as a result of the attack. According to available information, no one was injured; however, due to the damage to the high school, about a hundred children will temporarily study online. Andriy Raikovych, head of the Kirovohrad Regional State Administration, reported this on Facebook.
