Russian propagandists claimed that Ukraine had launched a record-breaking drone attack
Russian media reported on an allegedly record-breaking attack by Ukrainian drones on Russian territory.
Initially, propagandists reported that Russian air defense forces had allegedly shot down 1,478 Ukrainian drones in a single day, calling it an “absolute record.”
However, within a few minutes, Russian media updated the figure. According to new statements from the Russian Ministry of Defense, the number had risen to 1,671 drones, as well as 10 guided bombs and two HIMARS rockets.
Thus, Russian propagandists have effectively admitted to the largest-scale Ukrainian air attack on Russia since the start of the full-scale war.
At the same time, these figures have not yet been independently verified. Neither the Ukrainian General Staff nor the Russian Ministry of Defense has provided evidence that would allow for an independent assessment of the actual number of drones launched or intercepted.
