A Russian strike destroyed a UN warehouse in Dnipro containing $1.4 million worth of food

As a result of a targeted strike by a Russian Iskander high-precision ballistic missile on May 25, 2026, the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) logistics warehouse in Dnipro was completely destroyed. 

This was officially reported by the United Nations press service.

At the time of the attack, the facility was storing humanitarian aid supplies sufficient to support 130,000 civilians living in frontline areas. The estimated value of the lost grain and food products is $1.4 million. 

Richard Reagan, the WFP representative in Ukraine, noted that this strategic civilian facility has been damaged for the second time—in November 2025, its operations were disrupted by an attack from enemy drones. In addition, over the past 18 months, the international organization has recorded more than 84 security incidents involving shelling and damage to its warehouses, freight transport, bread and ration distribution points, as well as the property of Ukrainian humanitarian partners.

Despite the significant deterioration of the security situation and regular rocket strikes on infrastructure, representatives of the organization emphasize that the WFP will continue to carry out its mission and will deliver critically important food packages and financial aid every month to nearly 600,000 Ukrainians in the frontline zone. The UN reiterated that international humanitarian law strictly prohibits any attacks on humanitarian personnel and civilian infrastructure, and that such war crimes by the Russian Federation directly endanger the lives of the civilian population.
