Estonian Intelligence: Russia is Intensifying Its Information Warfare in Response to Ukraine's Strikes

Russia has stepped up its information campaign against the West following Ukraine’s successful long-range strikes on Russian oil refineries and other infrastructure facilities. This was stated by Colonel Ants Kiviselg, head of the Estonian Defense Forces Intelligence Center.

According to him, the Kremlin is increasingly using anti-Western rhetoric, accusing Western countries of ensuring Ukraine’s successes through their support. Russian propaganda is paying particular attention to the Baltic states and Finland, spreading claims about the alleged use of their airspace for attacks on Russia, preparations for the deportation of the Russian-speaking population, and the deployment of nuclear weapons.

Kiviselg also noted that recent statements by Russian officials regarding possible provocations and threats to the Baltic states are part of a coordinated information operation aimed at intimidating the Western public and weakening support for Ukraine.

At the same time, Estonian intelligence emphasizes that it sees no signs of Russia preparing for a military operation against the Baltic states in the near future.
