The Defense Forces have refuted the Russians' claim that they allegedly captured villages in the Sumy region
Russian propagandists claimed to have captured Velykyi Prykol and Sadky in the Sumy region. The Ukrainian military command refuted these reports and stated that both settlements remain under the control of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
Russian media outlets have once again spread claims about the alleged successes of their troops in the Sumy sector. This time, they claimed to have captured two settlements—Velykyi Prykol and Sadky. The “Kursk” military group emphasized that these reports are not true.
According to the Ukrainian military, both settlements remain under the control of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. Russian units attempted isolated assault operations but were unsuccessful. “The enemy managed only isolated assault operations, which ended right where they began,” the group reported.
The Ukrainian military also noted that Russian propaganda has repeatedly reported over the past week on the alleged capture of settlements in the Sumy region. During this time, the Russians claimed to have “liberated” five settlements at once. The Ukrainian side, however, refuted these reports.
The “Kursk” group reacted to these statements with irony. “If these reports are to be believed, the enemy should have exhausted its list of villages in the Sumy region long ago. But the Russians keep finding more to ‘liberate’ over and over again,” the Ukrainian military noted. The command urged residents and other citizens not to trust reports from Russian media outlets. The military advises obtaining up-to-date information on the situation at the front from official sources, in particular from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
At the same time, the Ukrainian military assured that the situation in this sector remains under the control of the Defense Forces. “The situation in the sector is under control; units are carrying out combat missions,” the “Kursk” military group emphasized. Thus, reports of the alleged capture of Velykyi Prykol and Sadky have not yet been confirmed by the Ukrainian side. According to official data from the Ukrainian military, these settlements remain under the control of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. The “Kursk” military group reported this on Facebook.
Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops attacked Kharkiv and 14 settlements in the region. As a result of the shelling, eight people were affected, including four with injuries; the others suffered acute stress reactions.
Over the past day, Russian troops launched a massive attack on the Kherson region. As a result of the strikes, three people were killed, another 17 were wounded, and residential buildings, vehicles, and infrastructure were damaged.
Since the evening, Russian troops have attacked the Dnipropetrovsk region more than 20 times with drones and artillery. Four districts came under fire; a business, a private home, a supermarket, a gas station, and garages were damaged.
In Kyiv’s Holosiivskyi district, the roof of a non-residential building caught fire after debris from a drone fell on it. Emergency services are already on their way to the scene.
Russian troops attacked Zaporizhzhia on the morning of August 30. A fire broke out after a strike on warehouse facilities, but no one was injured.
