Trump said the U.S. might allow Ukraine to manufacture missiles for the Patriot system
U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the United States may grant Ukraine the right to independently manufacture missiles for Patriot air defense systems.
He made this remark during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. During their conversation, Trump emphasized that he supports defensive weapons above all else.
“I prefer defensive weapons to offensive ones,” the U.S. president said.
At the same time, he suggested that Ukraine might receive permission to manufacture missiles for the Patriot system.
“A little birdie told me that we’ll give them (Ukraine—Ed.) the right to make Patriots. It’s a very technically complex thing, but I think you’ll manage,” Trump said.
