A WHO humanitarian warehouse was destroyed in Dnipro as a result of an attack by the Russian Federation
On Friday, August 7, a World Health Organization humanitarian warehouse in Dnipro was destroyed in an attack. There were no people on the premises at the time of the strike, and no casualties were reported.
WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus reported this on August 9. According to him, a WHO staff member and drivers had been at the warehouse earlier that day, helping to evacuate humanitarian supplies. The team managed to remove 130 of approximately 300 pallets from the site before the attack.
The warehouse stored medical humanitarian supplies intended for healthcare facilities near the front lines. In particular, these were primarily WHO emergency medical supplies.
Gebreyesus emphasized the need to stop attacks on medical facilities and reiterated the requirements of international humanitarian law.

“Even in war, there are rules. One of them is that health must be protected!” said the WHO Director-General.
This was reported by the organization’s Director-General, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, on social media platform X.
As a reminder, Russian attacks in Ukraine have claimed the lives of 13 people, with another 90 or so wounded.
Over the past 24 hours, the occupying forces lost 1,130 soldiers and more than 400 pieces of military equipment.
