Patrol police officer killed in Kherson by enemy drone strike
On 3 March 2026, a Russian drone strike claimed the life of Senior Lieutenant of Police Andrii Antsybor while he was performing his duties in the Kherson region.
According to the press service of the Patrol Police of Ukraine, the fallen officer devoted nearly ten years to service, joining the force in 2016. He remained faithful to his oath and continued to serve in the frontline city during the most difficult times, maintaining public order under constant shelling by Russian forces.
Colleagues remember him as a fair and dedicated professional who always put the interests of the community first. Over the course of his career, Antsybor served from the early days of police reform through to the period of full-scale invasion. The officer, who will forever remain 39 years old, is survived by his wife and two children — a 12-year-old son and a seven-year-old daughter.
This tragedy is yet another example of deliberate drone attacks targeting civilian services operating in combat zones. Police in the Kherson region continue to carry out evacuation efforts and document war crimes despite the high risks to their personnel. The leadership of the force expressed condolences to the family and loved ones of the fallen officer, who defended the safety of his city until his last breath.
In addition, three people were killed and two injured as a result of Russian shelling of the Korabelnyi district of Kherson.
In the Zaporizhzhia region, a Russian drone also struck a civilian vehicle. One person was injured in the city of Orikhiv.
