Explosions were heard in Kyiv amid an attack by jet drones
On the morning of August 12, explosions were heard in Kyiv amid an attack by Russian drones.
An air raid alert was declared in the capital at 9:36 a.m.
According to preliminary reports, about ten drones, presumably jet-powered, were heading toward Kyiv. The Air Force also reported groups of jet-powered UAVs in the Chernihiv and Cherkasy regions moving toward the Kyiv region.
“An air raid alert has been sounded in Kyiv due to the threat of enemy drones. We urge Kyiv residents to head to shelters and remain there until the air raid alert is over,” the Kyiv City Military Administration urged.
Explosions were also heard in the capital’s suburbs, particularly in Brovary.
According to RBC-Ukraine, as of the time of this report, there were no reports of casualties.
Kyiv residents were urged not to ignore the air raid alert and to remain in shelters until it ends.
In addition, over the past 24 hours, the Russian army carried out 1,011 strikes on 57 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region. As a result of the attacks on Zaporizhzhia and the Zaporizhzhia district, one person was killed and nine others were wounded.
On August 11, Russian troops killed one resident of the Donetsk region and wounded 13 others.
In the Kherson region, two people were killed and 14 others were wounded over the past 24 hours as a result of Russian aggression.
In the Mykolaiv region, two people were injured over the past 24 hours as a result of attacks by Russian drones.
In the Poltava region, one industrial facility caught fire as a result of Russian shelling.
In addition, starting in the evening of August 11, Russian troops attacked four districts of the Dnipropetrovsk region nearly 20 times with drones and a missile. A 57-year-old man was injured in the strikes.
On the night of August 11–12, Russian occupation forces struck Zaporizhzhia. The attack damaged one of the facilities belonging to the “Epicenter” chain.
