Ukrainian intelligence has learned that Russia is making preparations in the occupied town of Oleshky

Russia plans to conduct a series of staged video shoots in the occupied town of Oleshky in the Kherson region. According to intelligence reports, the aim is to create the impression of a supposedly prosperous life for local residents.

According to Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga, the Russian side plans to stage dozens of propaganda videos. According to Ukrainian intelligence, local residents may be forced to speak on camera, claiming that they are satisfied with life under occupation, have enough food, and are grateful to the Russian military.

“According to our intelligence, Russia is preparing to stage dozens of videos in the occupied town of Oleshky. Local residents will be forced to say on camera that they are happy, well-fed, and grateful to the Russian occupiers,” Sibiga wrote.

The minister emphasized the contrast between the potential Russian propaganda narrative and the actual situation in the city.

“First, the occupiers seize the city, cut off civilians’ escape routes, and block humanitarian aid. Then they force local residents to act in staged propaganda videos,” the foreign minister stated.

As a reminder, Russian troops confiscated food that Ukrainian soldiers had dropped for local residents in occupied Oleshky. In addition, the presence of non-Russian food products in people’s possession could serve as grounds for detention on charges of alleged collaboration with the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

As a reminder, about 2,000 people remain in Oleshky.

The Ukrainian military used drones to deliver about 4 metric tons of food to residents of occupied Oleshky. The humanitarian aid was distributed among 100 designated locations in the city.

Russian units involved in the blockade of the city have been stationed in occupied Oleshky.
