Ukrainian drones are remotely planting mines along the occupiers' supply routes

The Ukrainian Armed Forces are employing a tactic of remotely laying mines along Russian supply routes in conjunction with drone strikes. Due to the risk of hitting mines, truck drivers are forced to slow down or stop, making them more vulnerable to drone attacks, which can strike vehicles, particularly fuel tanks.

OSINT researcher Grandpa Roy has compiled data on Ukrainian mines, which have recently been found with increasing frequency along Russian military logistics routes in the operational rear.

According to his information, these are mines marked DP-02, which are an evolution of the IBM anti-personnel mines previously used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The mine contains a charge of approximately 110 grams of explosive mixture, which is sufficient to disable a cargo truck. The casing is manufactured using 3D printing.

It is also reported that the munition is equipped with a mercury sensor that reacts to any movement, and a self-destruction mechanism that activates 90 days after installation.

The researcher notes that Russian military bloggers and war supporters have recently been complaining en masse about such road-mining tactics. At the same time, he points out that the occupiers themselves previously used a similar method, remotely dropping PTM-3 mines onto Ukrainian roads using “Molniya” drones.

A separate problem for Russian drivers has been the need to choose between speed and safety. Driving with headlights on increases the risk of being detected by a drone, but offers a better chance of spotting a mine on the road and avoiding detonation.

In May, Ukrainian drones struck more than 18 Russian oil facilities.

One of Russia’s oldest oil refineries is on fire in Saratov.

The General Staff confirmed strikes on high-value targets in the Russian Federation.
