In Bashkortostan, drones attacked chemical industry facilities

In the city of Sterlitamak in Bashkortostan, one of the centers of the chemical and petrochemical industry in the Russian Federation, an attack has been reported on facilities that may be linked to the production of components for military equipment. 

This was reported by Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, on Telegram.

“Sterlitamak in Bashkortostan is under attack. It is one of the centers of the Russian Federation’s chemical and petrochemical industry,” he noted. 

According to Kovalenko, the city is home to enterprises that produce components for aviation and missile technology, including substances used in the manufacture of explosives, gunpowder, and ammunition.

He also specified that among these enterprises is the Sterlitamak Petrochemical Plant, which produces ionol—an additive for aviation fuel and lubricants for military equipment.

The head of the Center for Countering Disinformation added that the chemical industry plays a key role in supporting military production.

Also last night, the temporarily occupied Crimean Peninsula came under a massive drone attack.
