Video: An occupier hung a Belarusian mercenary from a tree and mocked him

A video has been circulating online showing the abuse of a man, believed to be a Belarusian mercenary fighting as part of the Russian army. In the released footage, the man is seen suspended upside down by his feet from a tree, after which a Russian soldier beats him with a wooden stick and threatens him with further violence.

The footage shows the man, suspended by his feet, unable to resist, while another soldier stands nearby holding a long wooden stick.

The Russian strikes the man and accompanies his actions with threats and insults.

“I’m going to turn you, bulbash, into mashed potatoes right now!” he says during the abuse.

The term “bulbash” may indicate that the man is Belarusian. The authors of the post refer to him as a mercenary fighting as part of the Russian army.

Thus, the video captures physical violence and the humiliation of a serviceman who had previously been rendered unable to resist.

At the same time, the identity of the man being abused, as well as the exact circumstances and location of the incident, cannot be reliably determined from the released footage.
