Video: Ukrainian Armed Forces Capture the Nephew of a Russian Lawmaker
Soldiers from the 3rd Assault Battalion of the 33rd Separate Assault Regiment captured a Russian soldier who turned out to be the nephew of a member of the Perm City Duma. According to the Ukrainian military, the captive took part in combat operations against Ukraine.
“The nephew of a Perm deputy is being held captive by the 33rd Separate Assault Regiment. The invader signed a contract for money, believed Russia’s promises—and set off for a foreign land. To a place where the invaders are killing people, destroying cities, and have been trying for five years to capture Ukraine in three days,” the military statement reads.
The occupier was captured by soldiers of the 3rd Assault Battalion of the 33rd Separate Infantry Brigade. He recounted what he was promised when he signed his contract and how he was prepared for the Russian-Ukrainian war.
“They all sing the same tune: ‘I thought we’d be building; I didn’t know I was going to war.’ But the fact remains: he came to our land with weapons,” the 33rd Special Forces Regiment emphasized.
As a reminder, a drone struck a commuter train in the Mykolaiv region. Neither the passengers nor the train crew were injured.
Overnight, Russian troops struck Konotop in the Sumy region again. A 14-year-old girl was injured in the attack, and significant destruction and damage were reported in the city.
The Russian strike drone that attacked a gas station in Zaporizhzhia on July 6, killing three people, may have been the first confirmed instance of Russia using a drone with a fully autonomous artificial intelligence system.
On the night of August 25, Russian troops attacked a shopping and entertainment center in Slobozhanske, Dniprovskyi District. The strike caused fires inside and near the building, damaged a truck, and destroyed the interior of the shopping center.
