European militaries are increasingly considering cheaper missiles and interceptor missiles after Russia’s war against Ukraine and conflicts in the Middle East exposed the limitations of small stockpiles of expensive high-tech weapons, as The Japan Times reports, citing Reuters.

Russia’s daily attacks — by the aggressor state — using drones and missiles against Ukraine demonstrate that modern warfare can consume weapons faster than states are able to replenish their stockpiles.

Analyst’s assessment

Douglas Barrie of the International Institute for Strategic Studies said that countries which consider their stockpiles of cruise missiles sufficient are probably mistaken.
