Eighteen Peruvians who had been deceived into fighting in the war against Ukraine have returned from Russia
Over the past two weeks, 18 Peruvian citizens who were lured to Russia under false pretenses and sent to fight against Ukraine have returned home.
This was reported by RPP Radio, citing the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to diplomats, as part of consular assistance, one more Peruvian is expected to return home on May 3, and six more on May 4.
In addition, two citizens who sought help from the Peruvian Embassy in Moscow are currently awaiting repatriation under diplomatic protection. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that the issue of their return is expected to be finalized in the coming days.
