There were 231 combat engagements on the front lines over the past 24 hours – General Staff
Over the past 24 hours, on August 8, 231 combat engagements between the Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian occupation forces were recorded on the front lines.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the enemy launched one missile strike using seven missiles and carried out 75 airstrikes, dropping 269 guided bombs. In addition, the enemy launched more than 10,000 kamikaze drones and carried out more than 3,000 shelling attacks on the positions of our troops and populated areas, particularly in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions.
In turn, the Defense Forces’ air force, missile forces, and artillery struck eight areas where enemy personnel were concentrated, destroying four artillery systems and four UAV command posts.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, Ukrainian defenders repelled five Russian assaults. The Russian Armed Forces carried out three airstrikes using eight guided bombs and fired 54 times on Ukrainian military positions and populated areas, including two attacks using multiple-launch rocket systems.
In the Southern Slobozhansky direction, Ukrainian units repelled 19 Russian attacks. The enemy attempted to advance in the areas of Lyman, Starytsia, Synelnykove, Artilne, and toward Izbytske, Ternova, Okhrimivka, Volokhivka, Pokalyane, and Khatne.
In the Kupiansk sector, Russian forces launched nine offensive operations toward Kivsharivka, Myrne, and Radkivka.
Attempts to breach Ukrainian defenses were repelled in the Lyman sector, where Russian invaders launched 12 attacks toward Drobysheve, Stavky, Ozernoye, Lyman, and in the areas of Karpivka, Zarichne, Novomykhailivka, and Novoselivka.
In the Sloviansk sector, the Russians carried out 15 assaults in the areas of Zakitne, Kryva Luka, Riznykivka, and toward Piskunivka, Mykolaivka, and Rai-Oleksandrivka.
On the Kramatorsk front, Russian invaders launched three attacks in the Malynivka area and toward Yurkivka.
In the Kostiantynivka sector, 24 Russian attacks were recorded. The invaders carried out assaults in the areas of Kostiantynivka, Ivanopil, Illinivka, Stepanivka, and toward Osykove, Dovha Balka, and Mykolaipil.
The Russians carried out 29 attacks in the Pokrovsk direction. The enemy attempted to advance in the areas of Novooleksandrivka, Udachne, Muravka, and toward Novyi Donbas, Shevchenko, and Serhiivka.
In the Oleksandrivka sector, Russian invaders carried out two attacks in the Zlagoda area.
In the Hulyaypil sector, Russian forces attacked 14 times. The enemy attempted to advance toward Rizdvyanka, Vozdvizhivka, Tsvitkove, Hirke, Staroukrainka, Rivne, and Charivne.
In the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled two Russian attempts to advance toward Primorske and Stepnogorsk.
In the Dnipro sector, the enemy did not conduct any assault operations.
In the Volyn and Polissya sectors, no signs of the Russian army forming offensive groups were detected.

Total combat losses of Russian troops since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, as of August 8, 2026, amount to approximately 1,456,610 soldiers.
On August 7, there were 192 combat engagements between Ukrainian defenders and Russian troops on the front lines. The occupiers were most active in the Pokrovsk direction—25 assaults were recorded there over the past 24 hours, and Ukrainian forces neutralized 56 Russian soldiers.
