The Ukrainian Armed Forces have liberated new settlements in northern Donetsk Oblast
As part of Operation “Vivaldi,” Ukrainian forces are continuing their offensive operations in the north of Donetsk Oblast. Over the past week, the Defense Forces have made further advances, including clearing and liberating several settlements.
Soldiers from the corps and other Defense Forces units operating in the Lyman sector are continuing their advance as part of the first phase of Operation “Vivaldi.” The Russian army’s losses—in terms of killed, wounded, and captured—are exceeding expectations.
Petro Gorbatenko, Chief of Staff and Deputy Commander of the Third Army Corps, spoke about this on the “Suspilne Studio” program.
As a reminder, in recent days, Brigadier General Andriy Biletsky, commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Third Army Corps, has begun publicly discussing information that had previously been known only to select military experts, the command, and those directly involved in the events. As it turns out, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have been conducting Operation “Vivaldi”—an offensive operation in northern Donetsk Oblast—for several months now. They kept it under wraps all this time to avoid breaking the information “silence.”
On September 18 and during the night of September 19, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck a number of key military facilities belonging to Russian terrorist forces. Among the targets hit were drone command centers, a training ground, and enemy warehouses.
As a result of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ attack on the Russian “Rostov-Central” military airfield, four enemy aircraft were destroyed. This is evidenced by photos that have appeared on social media.
